The Institute of Computer Networks at Guangzhou University (ICN@GU) focuses on Key Technologies on artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, risk evaluation, trustworthy/dependable computing, network security, privacy preserving, recommendation systems, smart cities, and medical information systems. Currently, it has 3 professors, 3 associate professors, 4 lecturers, 2 distinguished research fellows, 4 postdoctoral researchers, 6 Ph.D. students, and 36 master students. Prof. Guojun Wang is the Director of the Institute, who is a Pearl River Scholarship Distinguished Professor of Higher Education in Guangdong Province and a recipient of the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in Universities of Ministry of Education in China.
In recent years, the Institute has undertaken more than 30 R&D projects, supported by The National Key Research and Development Program of China (sub-project), The International S&T Cooperation Program of China (sub-project), National High-Tech Research and Development Plan of China (863 Program), National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) including Key Project, "MianShang" projects and Youth Projects, The Ministry of Education Fund for Doctoral Disciplines in Higher Education, and Key Project Initiative of Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation of China.
