Research work can lead to explore unknown, unintended breakthroughs, and overwhelming outcomes, which benefit society and change the world.?Most research work involves some sort of extended reading and writing, usually in the form of papers. Papers normally require that a student identifies a broad area of research related to the adviser’s research or to own interest, focuses the topic through some general background reading, identifies a clear research problem, prepares sufficient resources to answer the questions, and present the disputes in a clear and creative manner, with proper citations.?That is the philosophy, at least. But how do you go about doing it all? You may have many questions in your mind. In this talk, I will provide some answers. Particularly, I will discuss how to quickly read one paper and then many papers in a certain time, and remember the content of the paper. Then, when you are working on an idea, if you feel that you have seen the idea somewhere, but you don’t remember it. How to remember it really? How to lead your reading to a research problem? How do you address the problem? How do you start writing a paper when you have formulate and develop a problem, with well organization, nice presentation, and high quality? ?What to write first: abstract or technical content? In this talk, I will cover many such questions and share my experience, which I believe will help you greatly in your research.

报告人简介
Md Zakirul Alam Bhuiyan is currently an assistant professor of the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at the Fordham University, USA. Earlier, he worked as an assistant professor at the Temple University and a post-doctoral fellow at the Central South University, China, a research assistant at the Hong Kong PolyU, and a software engineer in industries. His research focuses on dependable cyber physical systems, WSN applications, big data, cloud computing, and cyber security. He serves as a lead guest editor of IEEE TBD, ACM TCPS, Information Sciences, and so on. He also serves as a general chair, program chair, workshop chair, publicity chair, TPC member, and reviewer of international journals/ conferences. He received the IEEE TCSC Award for Excellence in Scalable Computing for Early Career Researchers (2016-2017) and the IEEE Outstanding Leadership Award (2016). He is a member of IEEE and a member of ACM
