The First International Conference on Ubiquitous Security (UbiSec 2021) Was Held Successfully

        The First International Conference on Ubiquitous Security (UbiSec 2021) was held on December 28-31, 2021 at The University Town International Hotel, Guangzhou, China. Experts and scholars from domestic and international educational and research institutions, as well as renowned companies in industries, attended the conference to discuss the current status, challenges and future directions of information security, privacy computing and anonymous communications. A total of 96 submissions were received from 17 countries and regions around the world. After a thorough and careful review process by more than 150 program committee members, 29 papers were accepted for publication in the Springer CCIS proceedings. The conference was organized by the School of Computer Science and Cyber Engineering, Guangzhou University, and technically sponsored by the leading international publisher Springer. The opening ceremony was chaired by Prof. Guojun Wang from the School of Computer Science and Cyber Engineering, Guangzhou University. First, Prof. Hanpin Wang (Organizing Chair), Dean of the School of Computer Science and Cyber Engineering, Guangzhou University gave a warm welcome speech on behalf of Guangzhou University and the School. Prof. Kim-Kwang Raymond Choo (Steering Chair), University of Texas at San Antonio, USA, Prof. Kouichi Sakurai (General Chair), Kyushu University, Japan, and Prof. Ryan Ko (Program Chair), University of Queensland, Australia, delivered their welcome speeches.
        A total of 5 Keynote Speeches and 16 Invited Talks were held at the UbiSec 2021 Conference. The Keynote Speakers included Prof. Ravi Sandhu from the University of Texas at San Antonio (ACM Fellow, IEEE Fellow, AAAS Fellow); Prof. My T. Thai from the University of Florida, USA (IEEE Fellow); Prof. Vincenzo Piuri from the University of Milan, Italy (IEEE Fellow and ACM Distinguished Scientist); Prof. Wanlei Zhou, the Vice Rector (Academic Affairs) and Dean of Institute of Data Science, City University of Macau, Macao SAR, China; and Prof. Yang Xiao from the University of Alabama, United States (IEEE Fellow, IET Fellow). The invited guest speakers included Ming Wu (Senior Engineer), Hai Shen (Senior Engineer) and Fujin Huang (Senior Architect) from Intel China Asia Pacific R&D Co; Prof. Wenjun Jiang, Associate Prof. Qin Liu and Associate Prof. Yang Xu from Hunan University; Associate Prof. Feng Wang, China University of Geosciences; Associate Prof. Xiaolong Hu and Associate Prof. Guihua Duan from Central South University; Prof. Tian Wang, Beijing Normal University; Associate Prof. Shaobo Zhang, Hunan University of Science and Technology; Prof. Entao Luo, Hunan University of Science and Engineering; Prof. Sancheng Peng, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies; Dr. Qiang Zhang, Nanchang Municipality; Postdoctoral Fellow Lei Zhou, Southern University of Science and Technology; and Dr. Yinglong Dai from Hunan Normal University. The various presentations provide insights into the current state of development and the latest research results in new computing models based on the fields of cloud computing, edge computing, social computing and artificial intelligence, as well as their information security, privacy computing and anonymous communications. The conference offered a combination of online and offline events, with a total of 120 attendees.
        The UbiSec 2021 Conference has discussed cutting-edge issues such as computer security and privacy protection, which are currently developing rapidly in the field of network computing, providing a platform for domestic and international experts and scholars to exchange and learn from each other, and making efforts to promote the construction of a high-level university.
