Institute of Computer Networks
The Institute of Computer Networks at Guangzhou University (ICN@GU) focuses on Key Technologies on Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Cloud Computing for Cyberspace Computation, Communication and Storage. Research areas include artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, Internat of Things (IoT), blockchain, trustworthy/dependable computing, network security, privacy preserving, recommendation systems, and smart cities. Currently, it has 3 professors, 3 associate professors, 4 lecturers, 2 distinguished research fellows, 2 postdoctoral researchers, 7 Ph.D. students, and 20 master students. Prof. Guojun Wang is the Director of the Institute, who is a Pearl River Scholarship Distinguished Professor of Higher Education in Guangdong Province, a recipient of the Hunan Provincial Natural Science Foundation of China for Distinguished Young Scholars, and a recipient of the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in Universities of Ministry of Education in China.
In recent years, the Institute has undertaken more than 30 R&D projects, supported by International S&T Cooperation Program of China, National High-Tech Research and Development Plan of China (863 Program), National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) including Key Project, "MianShang" projects and Youth Projects, The Ministry of Education Fund for Doctoral Disciplines in Higher Education, Key Project Initiative of Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation of China, and Hunan Provincial Natural Science Foundation of China for Distinguished Young Scholars.
